  1. How many press officers your organisation employs, and your spending on speeches. This is for years 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19. Please note, if your organisation has taken part in a merger with any other local authority since the relevant timeframe, please include the relevant data for that 'legacy council'. Please include the following information:  How many members of staff work as press officers in each of 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19? 

    How much was spent on speeches and presentations with outside bodies in each of 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19? The figure should include any members of staff whose main duty is press relations, public relations, communications and social media. Your response should include both full-time and part-time members of staff, as well as any on any irregular contracts, such as consultants. Speeches and presentations with outside bodies includes, but is not limited to, firms who provide strategic communications, public affairs, advertising and consultancy services. The speeches and presentations includes only those that were commissioned by your authority, with the intention of your authority's staff delivering the speech or presentation.

  2. This request is in 2 parts. We ask that you answer all of the questions in the first section whether or not you have any licences issued under the Dangerous Wild Animals (DWAAA) Act. If there are any current DWAAA licences for primates in your area, please also complete all of the questions in the second section. As of 25th February 2019:

    PART 1

    1) How many DWAA licences are currently issued in your area?

    2) How many of these DWAA licences are issued for primates (monkeys, apes or prosimians such as lemurs)?

    3) How many applications for licences to keep primates under the DWAA Act have been refused in your area in the last 12 months?

    On what grounds were they refused?

    4) What is the cost of obtaining a DWAA licence in your area (please indicate whether this includes any veterinary fees incurred)?

    5) What is the cost of "renewing" a DWAA licence in your area (please indicate whether this includes any veterinary fees incurred)?

    6) Are you aware of any breeders or dealers of primates in your area?

    If yes how many? And are they licensed under the Pet Animals Act?

    7) If a member of the public is aware of a breach of the Animal Welfare Act with regards to a primate, who do they contact in your area? 8) In order to be granted DWAA licences for primates, must applicants demonstrate that they meet the conditions laid out in the Code of Practice for the Welfare of Privately Kept Non-human Primates?

    9) If a DWAA licence is not renewed, do you contact previous licence holders to establish why it has not been renewed?

    10) Would you investigate what has happened to primates that were licensed in your area but are no longer licensed?

  7. I would like some information about your authority's use of Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) and Community Protection Notice (CPN) powers, since October 2015. Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) 1. Has your local authority brought through any Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) since October 2015? If so, please give details of the PSPOs (please provide the text of the order(s), and if possible a map of the area affected).

    2. Please state the council body or official who enacted the PSPO (eg, was the PSPO passed by a designated council officer, a designated committee, or full council?).

    3. How have your council's existing PSPOs been enforced since October 2015? For example, please give the number of on-the-spot fines or prosecutions for violation of any PSPO; or any other available statistics regarding enforcement, for example alcohol confiscations.

    4. Are you planning or consulting on a PSPO to bring through in the future? If so, please give details: the text of the order and the planned date of consultation/enactment.

    5. Please state the number of council officers with powers to enforce PSPOs (for example, to issue warnings or fines for violations of the PSPO). If possible, please give the position of these officers (eg, street wardens, dog control officers, environmental officers). Community Protection Notices (CPNs): 1. Please state the number of Community Protection Notices (CPNs) that you have issued in the year between 1 November 2015 - 31 October 2016. Please indicate the subject of these CPNs (eg, messy gardens, feeding the birds, busking, or begging). If possible, please provide the text of these notices. 2. Please state the number of council officers with powers to issue CPNs. Please also state the number of council officers with the power to enforce CPNs (for example, to issue warnings or fines for violations of CPNs). In both cases, if possible, please give the position of these officers (eg, street wardens, dog control officers, environmental officers). Of course, please state if your authority does not have the power to enact PSPOs or CPNs.

    How many miles did council employees drive in the last 12 months in any type of vehicle e.g. greyfleet, council owned, car rental, car club etc.?
