Please provide recorded information concerning any local authority campaign, project, initiative or targeted inspection activity relating to businesses providing non-surgical cosmetic or aesthetic treatments.
For the period 1 January 2018 to the date of this request, please provide the following.
Please identify any campaign, project, targeted inspection programme, intelligence-led operation, sector compliance exercise or other organised initiative undertaken by the authority concerning businesses providing non-surgical cosmetic or aesthetic treatments.
For each such activity, please provide:
a. the title or description of the project;
b. the date it commenced and, where applicable, ended;
c. the council department or service responsible;
d. the project brief, initiation document, terms of reference or equivalent recorded document;
e. the recorded reason, evidence, intelligence or risk assessment used to select the cosmetic or aesthetic treatment sector for attention;
f. the recorded criteria or methodology used to identify businesses for inspection, contact or investigation;
g. any inspection checklist, officer briefing, guidance, procedure or instruction used for the project;
h. the legislation officers were instructed to consider or enforce;
i. the number of businesses contacted or inspected;
j. the number receiving advice, warnings, notices, referrals, cautions, prosecutions or other enforcement action; and
k. any final report, evaluation, summary or findings produced.
In relation to the selection of businesses, please identify whether any of the following were used as a source:
a. complaints;
b. council licensing or registration records;
c. social media;
d. business websites or advertising;
e. intelligence databases;
f. referrals or information from another local authority;
g. information supplied by a professional association, voluntary register, trade body, insurer, pharmacy, manufacturer, training provider or other external organisation; or
h. any other recorded source.
Where an external organisation supplied information or intelligence used to identify businesses, please identify that organisation.
Please identify whether any such activity was undertaken jointly with another local authority, regional group, Trading Standards group, Environmental Health network, central government department, professional body or other organisation.
Where joint activity occurred, please identify the participating organisations and provide any memorandum, project brief, meeting record or other document setting out the arrangement.
Please provide the authority's current inspection checklist, guidance, procedure or officer instructions specifically used when inspecting or assessing businesses providing non-surgical cosmetic or aesthetic treatments.
If the authority has undertaken no activity falling within this request, please confirm this expressly.
This request concerns information which may be held across Trading Standards, Environmental Health, Licensing, Regulatory Services, Public Health or related teams. Please ensure that appropriate searches are undertaken across relevant service areas.
