1. When was the last time a fire risk assessment was carried out on housing where council tenants reside where the building has more than six floors?

1 (a) Please can you provide further details as to how many buildings are under your authority and the details of each report.

2. Of those assessments in question 1, please can you provide how many were considered high risk (high risk defined as a serious risk to life from fire, substantial quantities of combustible materials, highly flammable substances, or likelihood of the rapid spread of fire, heat or smoke)?

Please note our response relates to Guildford Borough Council owned social housing property.

The Council owns and manages all its housing stock. None of our property is managed on the Council's behalf by any other organisation.

The Council does not have access to information pertaining to buildings owned & managed by other social housing providers

  • We have 2 identical blocks of flats which are 10 storeys in height (all our other blocks are under 6 storeys)

The 2 blocks are

Bishops Court, Guildford GU2 4HY

Mount Court, Guildford GU2 4JA

Fire risk assessments carried out on these blocks in 2017

1(a) Guildford Council own & manage approximately 5150 flats, houses, maisonettes & bungalows

The fire risk assessments carried out at Bishops Court & Mount Court made recommendations. These recommendations are now either complete, in progress or will be programmed in compliance with the priorities set out in the reports. There were no high risk areas identified.

  • There were no high risk areas identified in the latest 2017 reports for Mount & Bishops Courts but we are acting upon any recommendations made by our FRA consultants
