I would like the following under the terms of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR).

643.

* The number of these sites that were deemed high risk.

48 – a number of these have also been remediated as part of development process.

* The number of sites inspected that had significant levels of contamination, but have since been remediated.

11 – this number only relates to the sites with significant levels of contamination. There are several sites, with a degree of contamination, investigated and if required, remediated under planning regime.

Please see the attached PDF. The only site, which was deemed high risk to the neighbouring development was Slyfield industrial estate and mitigation measures were installed to manage risks – venting pipes and cowl; vertical gas barrier and regular gas and groundwater  monitoring wells.

Stonebridge Landfill was the other site from where risks were managed through routing monitoring and alarm system.

The rest of the sites had significant contamination present, but the mitigation work was required as part of the redevelopment.

In addition, I would also like to request, under EIR:

* The number of contaminated land inspections carried out per year by the council, from 1 January 2022 to 1 June 2026.

One.

* The amount of money currently allocated to contaminated land work in the council’s most recent budget.

£13,000 including staff resources.

* The date of their last published Contaminated Land Inspection Strategy produced by your council.

2001.
