Information Request: Please treat this as a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
For the purposes of this request, temporary accommodation means accommodation arranged or secured by the authority to meet homelessness duties, including B&Bs and hotels, hostels, nightly-paid accommodation, private sector leased accommodation and self-contained temporary accommodation.
Q.1: Please state the total number of inspections, property standards checks or health and safety visits carried out by the authority, or on its behalf, in relation to temporary accommodation in each of the following periods: • 2024/25 • 2025/26 • 2026/27 to date, stating the end date used.
Q.2: If the authority does not hold a total figure for any of those periods, please indicate which of the following best describes the position by marking the relevant option below:
• Inspections are carried out on a routine schedule, but the total number is not centrally recorded.
• Inspections are carried out each time a property becomes vacant or before a new placement is made.
• Inspections are carried out only in response to a report, complaint or concern being raised.
• Inspections are carried out by the accommodation provider or landlord rather than the authority.
• The authority does not operate a routine inspection programme for temporary accommodation.
