Response

Please find the answers to your queries below:

Under the Freedom of Information Act, I am requesting the following information:

1. The number of residential leasehold properties in which Guildford Borough Council are the freeholder.

We have circa 593 leasehold units.  This number is circa as we may have new accounts currently pending opening due to change of status.

2. Of those properties (1), the number which currently have less than 80 years remaining on the lease.

The only way to obtain this data would be to conduct a full manual audit of all our records. We are therefore unable to respond to your request, because (assuming it took a minimum of 3 minutes to review each individual lease to identify this information) it would take us over 18 hours to obtain this data, which would place a substantial and possibly unreasonable burden on resource and your request is therefore exempt under section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act (where the cost of compliance exceeds the appropriate limit).

3. Of those properties (1), the number which currently have between 80 and 90 years remaining on the lease.
