Request

I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. In order to assist you with this request, I am outlining my query as specifically as possible. I am writing to request a list of all businesses approved by the council, and/ or employed by the council for activities involving cleaning, refuse removal and other hygiene-related activities in commercial and domestic properties as well as public spaces.

Response

  • Cleansing and Recycling
    • The Council does not have a role in the approval of companies involved in these tasks but we do employ two organisations to assist in the delivery of our services, these are Glade and CTG
  • Facilities and Office Services
    • 1- Cleaning: We have no approved or use a third party company (completed in house)
    • 2-Refuse removal : We only use our in house GBC DLO service
    • 3- Other hygiene related activities: Purchasing will give you a response to this for all sites
    • 4-In commercial and domestic properties as well as public spaces: We only do Commercial Millmead House Complex
  • Neighbourhood and Housing Management
  • I can confirm that we in neighbourhoods have contracts with the following for cleaning
    • Town & Country
    • Contract Cleaning & Facilities Ltd
    • Oakleaf Enterprise Ltd
    • The only contract I am aware of for Hygiene related activities would be Clearway.
  • Housing Repairs
    • Borough Housing Repairs team use Revive Services and Clearway for refuse removal and cleaning of our void properties.
  • Parks and Leisure
    • GBC refuse team for our wheelie bins and CTG Cleaning Services for hot pressure washing the play areas.
    • Rentokil hygiene for clean up
    • CCF (Contract Cleaning and Facilities Ltd.)
