I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. In order to assist you with this request, I am outlining my query as specifically as possible. I am writing to request a list of all businesses approved by the council, and/ or employed by the council for activities involving cleaning, refuse removal and other hygiene-related activities in commercial and domestic properties as well as public spaces.
Response
- Cleansing and Recycling
- The Council does not have a role in the approval of companies involved in these tasks but we do employ two organisations to assist in the delivery of our services, these are Glade and CTG
- Facilities and Office Services
- 1- Cleaning: We have no approved or use a third party company (completed in house)
- 2-Refuse removal : We only use our in house GBC DLO service
- 3- Other hygiene related activities: Purchasing will give you a response to this for all sites
- 4-In commercial and domestic properties as well as public spaces: We only do Commercial Millmead House Complex
- Neighbourhood and Housing Management
- I can confirm that we in neighbourhoods have contracts with the following for cleaning
- Town & Country
- Contract Cleaning & Facilities Ltd
- Oakleaf Enterprise Ltd
- The only contract I am aware of for Hygiene related activities would be Clearway.
- Housing Repairs
- Borough Housing Repairs team use Revive Services and Clearway for refuse removal and cleaning of our void properties.
- Parks and Leisure
- GBC refuse team for our wheelie bins and CTG Cleaning Services for hot pressure washing the play areas.
- Rentokil hygiene for clean up
- CCF (Contract Cleaning and Facilities Ltd.)
