Response
Thank you for your recent request under the Freedom of Information Act.
Please find the answers to your queries below:
Please could you provide the following information:
1. The full reason why the property was advertised in error.
Allocations are reliant on other organisations and internal departments providing accurate information to create and/or verify an advert. If we are advised of an error after the advert has gone live, the advert needs to be withdrawn until the correct information is provided, or we are advised that the property is available to let.
In this case the property was not actually available to let and should not have been advertised. It was advertised due to human error.
2. The address or reference number of the property concerned.
GBC3BHFoxfield16726.
3. Whether the property has been withdrawn entirely from allocation, or whether it is still intended to be let.
Allocations have not received confirmation from other internal departments in relation to the status of this property and therefore we are not in a position to confirm if it will be advertised or allocated via a direct match in the future.
4. If the property is still being let, whether it will be re-advertised through the choice-based lettings system or allocated through another route.
Allocations have not received confirmation from other internal departments in relation to the status of this property and therefore we are not in a position to confirm if it will be advertised or allocated via a direct match in the future.
5. If the property is to be allocated outside of the normal bidding process, the policy basis for this decision and the relevant section of the Guildford Borough Council Housing Allocations Scheme that permits this.
Guildford Borough Council’s housing policies are publicly available and can be found via the following website: https://www.guildford.gov.uk/article/27366/Housing-policies
6. The date on which the error was identified and who authorised the withdrawal of the property from the bidding process.
Friday 17th July 2026. Neighbourhood Services highlighted an error and a senior officer in Allocations was consulted to approve withdrawal of the advert.
7. Whether any applicant has already been shortlisted, offered, or allocated the property.
There is no shortlist for this property, Allocations have not offered this property and it has not been allocated.
8. Details of any review or complaints process available if I am dissatisfied with the decision.
Details of our complaints process can be found via the following website: https://www.guildford.gov.uk/complaintscompliments
